After leading technology companies across Europe, Andrew returned to New Zealand in 2023 to open Kaihanu Lodge and support ambitious local businesses. He serves on the boards of Startup Queenstown Lakes and Mainland Angel Investors, and as Chair of the Otago Central Rail Trail Business Network, he’s focused on building a more connected, collaborative network to elevate visitor experiences and business success.

After decades running the Waipiata Country Hotel and Tussock Lodge since 2015, Mark pivoted in 2017 to launch Waipiata Pie Co., now producing over 3,500 hand‑made pies a week for Rail Trail cyclists and nationwide distribution . His warm hospitality and community-first mindset continue to enrich Central Otago’s visitor experience and local economy.

Janyne Fletcher
A multi‑award-winning fine‑art photographer based in Ranfurly - Janyne Fletcher Photography, Janyne crafts and frames her own prints from her 2016 gallery and workshop. Recognised as NZIPP Grand Master and consecutively winning national landscape photography awards, she channels Central Otago’s dramatic landscapes into elegant art that resonates deeply with Rail Trail visitors
Simon Stevens
Founded Trail Journeys to deliver memorable cycling experiences on the Otago Central Rail Trail, Simon oversees personalised tours, logistics, and support services. His passion for adventure tourism brings together intimate knowledge of the trail, local insights, and impeccable service.
John Crawford
Co-owner of Big Sky Bike Adventures, which he and Jacquie launched in Naseby in 2017. They curate bespoke Otago Central Rail Trail itineraries and unique off-trail experiences. With over 8 years of local expertise and consistently stellar reviews, his company is committed to crafting seamless, unforgettable cycling adventures that showcase Central Otago’s landscapes and drive stronger outcomes for the region’s businesses. John is also on the board of the Maniototo Adventure Park Charitable Trust.
Kathryn Fletcher (Fletch)
Co-owner of Bike It Now!, Kathryn leads tours, transport, and marketing from their Clyde base. With a background in outdoor education and over a dozen rides of the Rail Trail since 2000, she brings deep expertise and enthusiasm, ensuring every guest enjoys a top-tier cycling journey .
Yohann Bourdin
Owner of Parkside Farm, a family-run accommodation business on the Otago Central Rail Trail. Originally from France, Yohann has made Central Otago his home, combining his passion for hospitality with a strong commitment to community. His experience operating a trail-based business gives him valuable perspective on how to enhance the visitor experience and support the success of local operators.
